Interview Process Review| 面试流程回顾

Just finished my 10-week Summer Internship at Deloitte UK, and it felt like being thrown into a high-speed machine—I've shed a layer of skin but learned real things. Sharing my experience for juniors applying for internships, hoping to help you avoid some pitfalls.

刚结束在Deloitte UK为期10周的Summer Internship，感觉自己像是被扔进了一个高速运转的机器里，脱了一层皮，但也学到了真东西。给想申请实习的学弟学妹们分享一下我的经验，希望能帮大家少走弯路。

Deloitte's internship application process is basically the same as the Graduate Scheme, just more competitive. The process is typically: Online Application, Immersive Online Assessment, Final Stage Assessment (AC).

Deloitte的实习申请流程和Graduate Scheme基本一样，只是竞争更激烈。流程一般是：Online Application -> Immersive Online Assessment -> Final Stage Assessment（AC面）。

Online Assessment| 在线测试

This stage eliminates the most candidates. The Numerical Reasoning and SJT (Situational Judgment Test) must be practiced in advance. I found question banks online and practiced for about a week, mainly to get a feel for the format and speed.

这一关刷人最狠。里面的Numerical Reasoning和SJT（情景判断）一定要提前刷题。我当时就是在网上找的题库，练了大概一周，主要是为了找感觉和速度。

Assessment Centre| 评估中心

This is the most critical step. My AC included:

Group Case Study: Our case was about a coffee chain's digital transformation. The key isn't proposing brilliant ideas, but how you interact with teammates, how you contribute, and how you build on others' ideas. I played the role of timekeeper and summarizer, ensuring we stayed on track and synthesizing everyone's points at the end.
Group Case Study：我们组的Case是关于一个连锁咖啡店如何进行数字化转型。关键不是你提出了多牛逼的点子，而是你如何和组员互动，如何contribute，如何build on others' ideas。我当时的角色是timekeeper和summarizer，确保我们没有跑题，并且在最后把大家的观点都整合了起来。
Individual Presentation: Right after the Group Case, there's an individual presentation where you propose your own final recommendation based on the discussion. This tests your independent thinking ability, not just following the crowd.

Partner Interview: The final hurdle, and the most 'mystical.' The Partner chats with you to see if you're 'Deloitte Material.' I was asked about my views on ESG and discussed my understanding using Deloitte's own reports. The Partner really values your curiosity about the business world.
Partner Interview：Par面是最后一关，也是最「玄学」的一关。Par会跟你聊天，看你是不是「Deloitte Material」。我被问到了对ESG的看法，我结合Deloitte自己发布的报告，谈了谈我的理解。感觉Par很看重你对商业世界的好奇心。

What Does the Internship Actually Involve?| 实习到底在做什么？

I was assigned to a project team under Consulting, with a large bank as the client. My daily work was definitely not the 'tea-serving, copying' stereotype some imagine.

我被分到了Consulting下面的一个项目组，客户是一家大型银行。我的日常工作，绝对不是大家想象的「端茶倒水影印机」。

My Main Tasks| 我的主要任务

Data Analysis & Visualization: My Manager gave me raw data on customer complaints and had me analyze it using Excel and Tableau to identify main complaint types and root causes. I created a Dashboard to visualize the analysis results, which earned praise from my Manager.
数据分析与可视化：我的Manager给了我一堆关于客户投诉的raw data，让我用Excel和Tableau进行分析，找出投诉的主要类型和根本原因。我做了一个Dashboard，把分析结果可视化地呈现了出来，得到了Manager的表扬。
Expert Interviews: To deeply understand business processes, I accompanied my Buddy (a very nice senior colleague) to interview employees from different bank departments. I was responsible for Meeting Minutes and follow-ups.

Slide Making: This is a consultant's basic skill. During my internship, I made at least 50 slides. From not even knowing how to format properly at first, to being able to independently draft a complete set of logically clear slides—this process was really rewarding.

Securing the Return Offer| 实习转正

The ultimate goal of an internship is to get the Return Offer. Deloitte's internship-to-full-time conversion rate is quite high, but you can't just coast to get it.

实习的最终目的，就是为了拿到Return Offer。Deloitte的实习转正率还是挺高的，但也不是躺平就能拿到的。

How to Improve Your Chances| 如何提高转正几率

Be Proactive: Never let yourself be idle. When your current work is done, proactively ask your Manager or Buddy if there's anything else you can help with. Show your eagerness to learn.
主动：永远不要让自己闲着。手头的活干完了，就主动去问你的Manager或者Buddy，还有没有其他可以帮忙的。展现出你的学习热情。
Networking: Have coffee chats with colleagues to understand their work and experiences. This not only helps you learn but also makes them remember you.
建立人脉：多和组里的同事coffee chat，了解他们的工作和经历。这不仅能让你学到东西，也能让他们记住你。
Nail the Final Presentation: Before the internship ends, you'll present your 10-week work achievements to the entire department. This is your best opportunity to showcase yourself—prepare thoroughly.
做好最终汇报：实习结束前，你需要向整个部门的同事，汇报你这10周的工作成果。这是你展示自己的最佳机会，一定要好好准备。

Salary Reference| 薪资参考

Deloitte UK's internship salary is quite competitive, around £2,000 - £2,500 per month (depending on city and department).
