Deloitte's internship application process is basically the same as the Graduate Scheme, just more competitive. The process is typically: Online Application, Immersive Online Assessment, Final Stage Assessment (AC).

Online Assessment| 在线测试

This stage eliminates the most candidates. The Numerical Reasoning and SJT (Situational Judgment Test) must be practiced in advance. I found question banks online and practiced for about a week, mainly to get a feel for the format and speed.

The key isn't proposing brilliant ideas, but how you interact with teammates, how you contribute, and how you build on others' ideas. I played the role of timekeeper and summarizer, ensuring we stayed on track and synthesizing everyone's points at the end.

Individual Presentation: Right after the Group Case, there's an individual presentation where you propose your own final recommendation based on the discussion. This tests your independent thinking ability, not just following the crowd.

Partner Interview: The final hurdle, and the most 'mystical.' The Partner chats with you to see if you're 'Deloitte Material.' I was asked about my views on ESG and discussed my understanding using Deloitte's own reports. The Partner really values your curiosity about the business world.

What Does the Internship Actually Involve?| 实习到底在做什么？

I was assigned to a project team under Consulting, with a large bank as the client. My daily work was definitely not the 'tea-serving, copying' stereotype some imagine.

My Main Tasks| 我的主要任务

Data Analysis & Visualization: My Manager gave me raw data on customer complaints and had me analyze it using Excel and Tableau to identify main complaint types and root causes. I created a Dashboard to visualize the analysis results, which earned praise from my Manager.

Expert Interviews: To deeply understand business processes, I accompanied my Buddy (a very nice senior colleague) to interview employees from different bank departments. I was responsible for Meeting Minutes and follow-ups.

Be Proactive: Never let yourself be idle. When your current work is done, proactively ask your Manager or Buddy if there's anything else you can help with. Show your eagerness to learn.

Networking: Have coffee chats with colleagues to understand their work and experiences. This not only helps you learn but also makes them remember you.
